Introduction
At Ishan Institute of Pharmacy, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all our students. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, bullying, and any form of harassment. Ragging is strictly prohibited on our campus, and we take stringent measures to ensure the well-being and dignity of every member of our college community.
- What is Ragging?
In general sense any act, by an individual or a group, that causes physical or psychological harm, discomfort, or humiliation to a student will be treated as ragging. A more detailed description of ragging was provided by the esteemed Supreme Court of India, which stated:”Ragging is any disorderly conduct, whether by words spoken or written, or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any student, indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities which cause or are likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the psyche of a fresher or a junior student.”
- Our Commitment
Our commitment to fostering a ragging-free campus is rooted in our belief that every individual deserves to pursue their education without fear or distress. To fulfill this commitment, we have established a comprehensive set of principles and measures aimed at preventing and addressing any instances of ragging on our campus. And we believe that preventing ragging is a collective responsibility shared by the college administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Preventive Measures
- Orientation Programs
We understand that prevention is the key to eradicating ragging. To achieve this, we conduct extensive orientation programs at the beginning of each academic year to educate both new and existing students about the perils of ragging. Through these sessions, we raise awareness about the physical, emotional, and legal consequences of engaging in or supporting any form of ragging.
