6th National Pharmacovigilance Week 2026
Ishan Institute of Pharmacy, Greater Noida, observed the 6th National Pharmacovigilance Week 2026 from 17th to 19th September 2026 through a series of academic, awareness, and creative activities. The programme aimed to create awareness among students and the general public about the rational use of medicines, monitoring of adverse drug reactions, and the importance of patient safety.
The celebrations began on 17th September 2026, coinciding with World Patient Safety Day, with a Street Play on the theme “Promoting Rational Use of Medicines through Pharmacovigilance.” Through an engaging performance, students highlighted the importance of using medicines appropriately, seeking professional medical advice, avoiding self-medication, and reporting suspected adverse drug reactions.
On 18th September 2026, a Quiz Competition and Essay Writing Competition were organised. The quiz covered key areas of pharmacovigilance, drug safety, adverse drug reactions, and rational drug use. The essay writing activity provided students with an opportunity to express their understanding of patient safety and pharmacovigilance in a clear and creative manner.
The activities concluded on 19th September 2026 with awareness and closing activities focusing on the safe and rational use of medicines. Students were encouraged to understand their role in promoting patient safety and responsible medicine use.
The programme provided students with valuable learning beyond the classroom and strengthened their awareness of professional responsibility, patient care, and public health. Through these activities, Ishan Institute of Pharmacy reinforced the message that safe and rational use of medicines is an essential foundation of patient safety and a healthier society.
