Pharmacovigilance Week 2025
To foster a culture of drug safety and raise crucial awareness regarding adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting, the Ishan Institute of Pharmacy enthusiastically observed Pharmacovigilance Week from 17th September to 23rd September 2025. Aligning with the national mission of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), the central theme for this year's week-long awareness drive was "Your Safety, Just a Click Away – Report to PvPI." The initiative aimed to educate future pharmacists on the power of digital reporting and their fundamental responsibility in minimizing medication risks to ensure patient safety.
Week-Long Program Schedule & Key Highlights
The institute hosted a diverse series of highly engaging academic and creative competitions designed to challenge the students' knowledge and showcase their dedication to patient healthcare.
- 17.09.2025 – Essay Writing Competition: Students penned insightful essays evaluating the critical importance of monitoring post-market drug safety and the global impact of pharmacovigilance.
- 18.09.2025 – Poster Making Competition: A vibrant display of artistic talent where students designed hand-made posters visually demonstrating the cycle of drug safety and ADR detection.
- 19.09.2025 – Slogan Writing: Future pharmacy professionals crafted sharp, impactful slogans to encourage everyday citizens and healthcare professionals to proactively report side effects.
- 22.09.2025 – E-Poster Making: Utilizing modern design tools, students created digital infographics emphasizing the ease of reporting side effects using mobile apps and online PvPI portals.
- 23.09.2025 – Grand Finale Quiz Competition: A thrilling, fast-paced technical quiz focusing on clinical trials, drug regulations, toxicology, and standard PvPI reporting protocols.
Key Learning Outcomes & Impact
The core objective of the event was neatly summarized by the week's motto: "Report. Prevent. Protect." Through active participation, pharmacy students gained deep clinical insights into how tracking adverse events saves lives on a mass scale. The theme effectively highlighted how digital advancements have made reporting simple, fast, and accessible to everyone. The faculty members lauded the students' dedication, reminding them that as future pharmacists, they will serve as the final line of defense in ensuring patient medication safety.
